Keyboard problems argh!

So you have keyboard problems in Windows Vista.. ie. you type one thing, and get another on screen.

Here is a couple of things to try.

1) Buy a cheap USB keyboard and see if that works, if so the old is likely faulty.
2) Use a can of compressed air to clean out keyboard buttons
3) Change your keyboard layout in Control Panel:

START >> CONTROL PANEL >> REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS >> (Tab) Keyboards and Languages >> CHANGE KEYBOARDS

You might need to add a new service, like: "English (Australia) Keyboard US". I have found that setting this keyboard fixes most problems. The UK one sometimes creates wierdness for users.

Click ADD then select English (Australia) >> Keyboard >> US Default (You may need to click SHOW MORE, to see this option. Select it, then click OK.

At the top of the page, choose English (Australia) - US, as the DEFAULT INPUT LANGUAGE.

Click OK, OK. Done

4) Turn NUM LOCK Off
5) Turn Scroll Lock Off

These should sort you, otherwise call me.
