Troubleshooting Internet Explorer crashes


Is Error Reporting turned on? This will tell you what module caused the crash, so that you can turn it off, or search for a solution.

Are you logged in with a administrator account?

Have you tried viewing page in Compatibility mode?

a. Open Internet Explorer.
b. On the Tools menu, click Compatibility View Settings.
c. In the Compatibility View Settings dialog box, click to select the Display all websites in Compatibility View box.
d. Click Close.

Internet Explorer 8 will now display like Internet Explorer 7.

Have you tried tried checking for malware:
http://onecare.live.com/scan

Have you tried disabling Script debugging?
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the "Advanced" tab, click to select the "Disable Script Debugging" check box in the "Browsing" section.
4. Click OK, and then restart Windows.

Have you tried disabling all the add-on modules?

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest Internet Explorer?
1. http://www.microsoft.com/australia/windows/internet-explorer/welcome.aspx
2. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Have you tried re-registering the Internet Explorer dll files?
